With it being the season of chicks and I know so many families that will be adding a new flock to their family I wanted to do a post sharing all about the colored egg layers and which breeds will give you what color. So if you want a rainbow basket you can plan around that. I know we personally wanted a rainbow basket. We have 4 breeds and a tot owl of 9 girls. And we get about 5 different colors. Our rainbow basket has brown, tan, pink, blue and green eggs. The next time we get more girls I definitely plan to get some dark egg layers.

Our breeds we have are:
- Buff Orpington
- Isa Brown
- Oliver Egger
- Americauna
Let’s get to that list so you can get to picking out your new flock.

I do suggest doing a little more research on the breeds you choose to make sure they will fit with your family. We specifically wanted colored eggs and girls that would be family/kid friendly. our boys love them and play with them daily.
Until next time, live a life you love!
