How To Make A Spooky Fun Boo Basket And A Free Printable Halloween Scavenger Hunt

This year for Halloween I wanted to make it special for my little monsters. Since obviously Halloween has been practically cancelled for the entire country. But not just for that. Last year we moved to a new state and away from the city/suburbs. So it was very tricky trying to find new places to take our kids.

We attempted a couple of festivals and attempted to do door to door trick or treating but it ended up being boo sheet. So we ended up offering our kids to go to the store and pick out candy and another day of the week (since it was now like 9pm) we would “play” trick our treat at home. And they opted for this instead of another attempt at Halloween.

So knowing how last year went and this year I knew I needed to change up the way we do halloween and make a new tradition for us.

So this year we will be giving our boys “BOO Baskets” or “BOO Buckets” if you want to get technical. We are just using their trick or treating bu let’s they’ve had for years. And filling them up with cute spooky treats fit for some little monsters.

Now if your new around here you might not know that my family and I are on a lifelong journey to living more intentional and that means we also embrace the minimalist lifestyle. So for us to make a boo basket for our kids was way out of our normal vibe so you’ll expect to see the items we got aren’t full of candy.

We went with items they can play with and items they would love and items they don’t normally get “trinkets” so it had a little extra fun to it for them. But also things that we could reuse next year if we wanted or as decorations too.

Now To What’s In Our Boo Baskets

  • Sticky hands
  • Pencils
  • Playdoh
  • Spider man coloring pack
  • Mini Halloween play pack
  • Stickers
  • Spider rings
  • Finger skateboards
  • Finger claws
  • Glow sticks
  • Candy
  • Jitter toy (for our 1 year old)
  • Outfit (for our 1 year old)

They make the cutest items ever and your littles are sure to love them!

All of our items came from either Targets dollar spot or Walmart’s Halloween section. So it doesn’t have to cost a lot or be extravagant. Simple and fun is always the easiest route to take.

To make it extra fun I also made some really cute Halloween scavenger hunt cards. So I’m deciding if I’ll hide their boo basket at the end of it or maybe little handfuls of candy. To make it fun. You can download them for free and use them for Halloween fun to.

To get access to them click here to become a member of my tribe and gain access to all the items in my vault.

Now I hope you have fun making your own boo baskets and going on a scavenger hunt!

Until next time, Live a life you love
